MEB uses a global network of farmers and growers to source their raw materials. Utilizing generations of knowledge, these growers know exactly when to harvest in order to maximize both the purity and potency of fragrances and flavor.

But its not just the harvest that is critical. You also have to understand the distillation process - even the smallest detail can affect the composition of an essential oil. Thats why at MEB, we place our trust in sources that have perfected the process of generations of artisans that have passed down their knowledge and wisdom.

The collected raw material is processed by our network of contract manufacturing agents for distillation and extraction, which is then sampled and tested for in a detailed manner to arrive at our finished product. The goods are then carefully packaged and further sampled as per the purchaser’s requirement before finally being shipped off to the buyer’s destination.

Steam distillation is the most common way to extract aromatic compounds (essential oil) from a plant. During the steam distillation process, steam passes through the plant material. The combination of heated steam and gentle pressure causes the essential oil to be released from microscopic protective sacs. As the vapor mixture flows through a condenser and cools, it yields a layer of oil and a layer of water. The essential oil rises to the top and is separated from the hydrosol (floral water) and collected.
